2018 Bosco Chalk Hill Sangiovese
The name origin of this wine dates back to our wedding in Tuscany in 2014. Bosco means “the woods” in Italian and was the name of a wine we served at our wedding. Later it became the name of our dog. Now it is the name of our wine. What can we say, we like to re-use names.
+ Made using mostly carbonic fermentation to accentuate the bright aromatics of Sangiovese while at the same time turning the volume down on the inherently strong structural element of the grape.
+ Aged in a mixture of stainless steel and neutral oak barrels for five months prior to bottling.
+ Sourced from the lower block of Sangiovese at Windsor Oaks Vineyard.
+ Includes a small percentage of Dolcetto from Windsor Oaks as well. The Dolcetto was also carbonically fermented.
+ Crafted to be a joyful, food friendly, juicy and bright wine that begs to be drunk with merriment.
+ Bright and tart red cherries, hard candy, faint smell of sweet cigar. Mouthwatering.
+ Very minimal sulfur addition at bottling to promote short term drinking.
