2016 Tanbark Mill Vineyard Pinot Noir
Tanbark sits in the “Deep End” of Anderson Valley, generally the cooler section of the AVA that is northwest of Philo on Hwy 128. The vineyard slopes from the 128 all the way to the edge of the Navarro River below. This wine is a blend of the Martini and 828 clones of Pinot Noir and aged for 16 months in barrel (with 25% new French oak) and 8 months in bottle prior to release. Compared to some of our other Pinots, this one is broader in the mouth with a collection of baking spice notes, pomegranate, and forest floor characteristics. Based on its fine tannins and persistent—yet well-integrated—acid profile, this wine should age gracefully for a decade or more if stored properly.
