We're doing something a bit unique with the wines in the Libertine series. We've been holding back 3-4 barrels of the current blend each time we bottle to blend into subsequent editions.  In effect, there are four barrels of No. 2 in the No. 3 and there will be four barrels of No. 3 in the upcoming No. 4.  It's not quite a solera system but it's our own unique way to create a multi generational lineage through the wine.

As usual, this wine is versatile and oh-so-easy to drink, even with a slight chill in the summer.  As the French would say, it is a true vin de soif. This is the second vintage of our carbonic Pinot Noir, and is also from the same vineyard as our rosé—Bybee Vineyard. This wine carries fresh crushed berries, fine-beaded mineralogy, and notes of citrus peel. It's meant to be enjoyed sooner rather than later, because let's be honest—life is short.

Named after the Tuscan wedding location of Kelly & Noah, and now the name of their faithful pup, this new Sangiovese is made using mostly carbonic fermentation to accentuate the bright aromatics & red candied cherry. Sourced from the lower block of Sangiovese at Windsor Oaks Vineyard, the wine includes a small percentage of Dolcetto from the Windsor Oaks Vineyard– joyful, food friendly, juicy and bright wine that begs to be drunk with merriment.

Tanbark Mill Vineyard is situated in the “deep-end” of Anderson Valley, sloping from HWY 128 down to the edge of the Navarro River. Fermented in small two-ton fermenters over the course of 24 days, our 2017 has a pleasantly aroma of dark macerated fruits and musky forest floor and a velvet-like swirl of wild blackberry on the palate, backed up by mouthwatering acidity that asks for another sip!

The Wendling Vineyard is named for the Wendling family, one of the founding wine families of the Anderson Valley. It is the last vineyard in the Anderson Valley AVA and the closest in the valley to the Pacific Ocean. Showy Pinot aromas of crushed blackberries combined with coastal damp earth.  Strutting with plummy silk yet built for aging.  Will improve for 10-15 years and hold for 20 or more.

Rice-Spivak is a pristine six-acre vineyard south of the town of Sebastopol, just outside the northern edge of the Petaluma Wine Gap which provides the fruit a daily dose of cool air. The vineyard is known for yeilding wines that are once ethereal and extroverted. We often find exotic spices and layer upon layer of dark brambly fruit.
